God dwells in the congregation of His people. It is seen as a high place, a mountain that people go up to learn God’s ways.
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.”
Micah 4:2a
When I hike up a mountain, expecting God to teach me something, He is faithful. The grand view at the top of this post taught me that He is a God of peace. The picture of peace was a hint of the peace that passes all understanding.
The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philipians 4:7
God made the mountains and everything on it with infinite wisdom to be a place where we can see illustrations of the truth.
For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the LORD, the God of hosts, is his name!
Amos 4:13
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1.2
Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up and makes his nest on high? ... I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you; therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”
Job 39:27,28 and Job 42:5,6
Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O LORD.
Psalm 36:5,6
Where Living waters flow
The mountains receive an abundance of water as ordained by God. As one sees the ever flowing waters we are reminded of the water of life that flows from the throne of God. It gives life to His people who are witnesses of His grace.
From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.
Psalm 104:13
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Revelation 22:1
Living face of the mountain Renews
Creatures and plants renew the face of the mountains as God sends His Spirit to do it. None of the life that I could observe there was by accident. Each plant and animal illustrated scriptural leasons. What creation does as a metaphor we have the opportunity to live out in Jesus. For example, as the Rocky Mountain Cutthroat trout can only live in the clean, pure water, we can only live in the pure Word, Jesus.
O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. ... When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.
Psalm 104:24

A beautiful picture. The mountain is more distinct. A place to feel peace and blessings.
